We strong encourage you to repurpose your candle!
Don’t throw away your candle when you are finished with it. There are so many cool ways to re-use your candle vessel!
Some ideas include:
· Drinking glass
· Decorative holder for pens, pencils, coffee grounds, q-tips, cotton balls, make-up brushes, etc.
· Mini planter for faux plants or real ones! Just drill a small hole in the bottom to let water drain.
Instructions for cleaning out your used candle:
1. Simply heat your oven to the lowest heat setting.
2. You can melt the remaining wax out in one of two ways:
a. Set candle container on surface of an oven safe pan. Pull container out when melted. Be sure to use oven mits to protect your hands, as the container will be hot. Dump remaining melted wax into trash can. While the container is warm, wet a paper towel with rubbing alcohol and clean out thoroughly. At this point, the wick and wick holder should come out easily.
b. Cover an oven safe pan with foil and place candle vessel upside down. The remaining wax will melt onto the foil. Dispose of foil when wax is completely melted out of the candle. Wet a paper towel with rubbing alcohol and while candle is warm, clean the container out thoroughly. If the wick and wick holder did not come out in the melting process, while the candle is still warm, it should be easy to remove.
3. Don’t forget to turn off your oven.
